Who are we?
Energia Karpaty Zachodnie is a company which, by decision of the Minister of Climate and Environment on November 19, 2024, obtained two concessions for exploration and exploitation of oil and natural gas deposits and extraction of oil and natural gas. They are: the concession in the Bielsko-Biała area, no. 32/2009/Ł and the concession in the Cieszyn area, no. 69/2009/Ł.
Our Investors
Our sole owner is the company Horizon-Petroleum Ltd., a Canadian company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange Venture (TSXV: HPL), the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FRA:HPM) and Tradegate (Tradegate: HPM).
Horizon's goal is to build a significant, medium-sized natural gas exploration company to meet Europe's ever-growing energy demand and thereby increase its energy security. The planned actions aim to achieve these objectives through the implementation of several key strategic priorities.

40 years of experience in technical, management and leadership roles living and working in Latin America, Middle East, SE Asia and UK North Sea. British Petroleum, Sun Oil, Canadian Occidental (now CNOOC), Alberta Energy Company (now Ovintiv), Calvalley Petroleum.
Founder and Director of Canacol Energy Ltd. and Founder, prior CEO and Director of Excelsior Energy Limited, an oil sands-focused exploration company.
BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of London, an MSc in Structural Geology and Rock Mechanics from Imperial College, University of London and a PhD in Structural Geology from Edinburgh University.
Doctor of Geological Sciences with 45 years of professional experience, primarily in the oil and gas sector. He was a researcher at the Department of Geology at the University of Warsaw and at the Universities of Kansas and Ohio State. He served as Director and President of the Geological Services Company Abroad "GEOPOL". Chief Ecologist of the Bank for Environmental Protection (BOS S.A.). President of the International Petroleum Association MTN "GOLDEN GATE" and Director of the International Pipeline Company MPR "SARMATIA". Director of the Polish Representative Office of the Ukrainian joint-stock company "UKRTRANSNAFTA." Vice President of the Polish Oil Company PKN "ORLEN" and the Mazeikiu Refinery in Lithuania. Director of the GeoCO₂ Consortium and coordinator of the Polish pilot project for carbon capture and storage (CCS). Vice President of the companies United Oilfield Services, UOS Drilling, and UOS Energy.
He also served as an advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
